To qualify for the Express Entry, applicants must meet all the eligibility requirements for the category he/she applies through. An eligible candidate’s profile is submitted in the Express Entry pool.

What is the Express Entry Pool?

The Canada Express Entry pool has profiles of various skilled immigrants who are competing for Canada PR. Express Entry is a point-based system. Thus, the applicants are selected for PR based on the score obtained from his/her profile. Points are awarded to candidates based on age, work experience, education, proof of funds, and many more.

What are the Documents Required to create an Express Entry Profile?

Depending on the immigration program you are applying through, the required documents differ. However, the following are some of the commonly required documents for each program.

Language test: Applicants are required to provide language proficiency results in English or French through a language test. Applicants from non-native English speaking countries must have a satisfactory score in any of the four language band which includes; speaking, listening, writing, and listening.

Educational Credentials Assessment (ECA): If an applicant has finished his/her education from a non-Canadian institution, his/her educational qualification will be assessed if it is up to the Canadian standard. The age limits of dependent children have been extended to 22 years. Prior, it was 19 years. This is a welcome development for families who want to stay in Canada.

Language proficiency in either English or French will accelerate your application process in becoming a permanent resident. A good Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score is a requisite requirement for qualification. Further, if an applicant has a dual language ability, the applicant will be awarded an extra point.

International students are required to have an IELTS score of six in each band.

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are presently allowing high school graduates to partake in the Express Entry and if they qualify, they may receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency.
